Antonio Galloni (Vinous ) awarded Pagliarese 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva with a score of 92+ points: “The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva is another terrific wine from Pagliarese. Juicy dark cherry, plum, licorice, menthol and sage give the Riserva lovely darkness and flavor intensity. The tannins need a bit of bottle age to soften, but there is plenty to like and look forward to here, most notably the wine’s real sense of vibrancy. Dollops of Canaiolo add character to this decidedly powerful, old-school Riserva from Pagliarese, a Fèlsina sister estate.
Galloni also assigned 89 points to Pagliarese 2017 Chianti Classico: “The 2017 Chianti Classico is a very pretty, old-school leaning wine loaded with all the class that has been such a signature at this reborn property over the last few years. Iron, sweet red cherry, tobacco, cedar, dried flowers, mint and cedar add layers of nuance throughout. This bold, hearty Chianti Classico will be especially fine at the dinner table.”.
